A particle is released from the top of a tower of height 150m and another ball is thrown vertically upwards with velocity 20m/s from a tower of height 50m at the same time. Assume both are in a same vertical line. Then time after which they collide to each other- (take g= 10m/s2)

Answer:

Let t be the time after which they collide

1st particle will travel

s1=(1/2)×10×t^2

2nd particle will travel s2=20t-(1/2)(10)t^2

s1 +s2+50=150

(1/2)×10×t^2+20t-(1/2)×10×t^2=100

20t=100

t=5 sec
