average speed in downward dirn = {(0 + 10 + 20 + 30 + 40) / 5} = 20 m/s average speed = [{(30) × (6) + (20) × (4)} / {10}] = [{260} / {10}] = 26 m/s average velocity = [{60 + (– 40)} / {2}] = 10 m/s ----- taking downward velocity negative.

Answer →

displacement ,

s = ut + ½at²

s = 60 x 10 - ½ x 10 x 100

s = 600 - 500

s = 100 m

distance covered in upward motion

= 30 x 6 = 180 m

Distance covered in downward motion

= 20 x 4 = 80 m

Total distance = 260 m

Average\: velocity = total\: displacement÷ time

= 260/10

= 26m/s

Average\: velocity = total\: displacement÷ time

= 100/10

=10 m/s
