A particle moves 3m in positive direction of x axis ,5m making 53 degree with positive direction of x axis and 4 m in positive direction of y axis . what is its displacement ?​

Explanation:

A particle moves 3m in positive direction of x axis

=> Distance in x direction = 3 m

& Distance in y direction = 0 m

Then 5m making 53 degree with positive direction of x axis

=> Distance in x direction = 5Cos53 = 5 * 0.6 = 3 m

& Distance in Y Direction = 5Sin53 = 5 * 0.8 = 4 m

4 m in positive direction of y axis

=> Distance in x direction = 0

& Distance in y direction = 4 m

Total Distance in x direction = 3 + 3 + 0 = 6m

Total Distance in y direction = 0 + 4 + 4 = 8 m

Total Displacement  = √6² + 8² = √36 + 64  = √100

= 10 m

Displacement = 10 m
