Answer:

A particle moves along straight line for a 10sec with uniform acceleration 2 m/s².

initial velocity of particle is zero.

use formula , S = ut + 1/2 at²

here, u = 0, a = 2m/s² and t = 10sec

so, S = 0 + 1/2 × 2 × 10² = 100m

velocity after 10 sec :

use formula , v = u + at

v = 0 + 2 × 10 = 20 m/s

now, particle moves next 10sec with acceleration 4 m/s² .

so, initial velocity in this case , u = 20m/s

a = 4 m/s² and t = 10 sec

use formula, S = ut + 1/2 at²

S = 20 × 10 + 1/2 × 4 × 10²

= 200 + 200 = 400 m

hence, total distance of particle = 100m + 400m = 500m
