A particle moves in a straight line with a velocity 8 ms−1 for 2 seconds and then with a velocity 10 ms−1 for 5 seconds. Find the average velocity during this time interval?

v = 8 m/s

t = 2 s

=> s = vt = 16 m

during the second interval,

v = 10 m/s

t = 5 s

s = vt = 50 m
