Given:

Angle of line BC with x axis = 45°

To find:

Angle between directions of initial velocity and instantaneous velocity at point P.

Solution:

Let the point of origin be O

Angle BAO = 37°

When the line AB in extended downwards, it also makes 37° angle with the x axis.

The initial velocity direction will be along the line AB

The instantaneous velocity will be in the direction of BC

The total angle = 37° + 45°

= 82°

Therefore, the angle between the direction of initial velocity and instantaneous velocity is 82°.
