Given that,

The equation of path is

y=x^2

If x = 0, then

We need to calculate the distance travelled by the particle

Using equation of path

y=x^2

Put the value of x

y=0

The distance travelled by the particle is zero.

So, The particle is at rest.

If x = 2m, then

We need to calculate the distance travelled by the particle

Using equation of path

y=x^2

Put the value of x

y=2^2

y=4\ m

Hence,  The distance travelled by the particle is 4 m.
