a particle of mass m1 moving with velocity u makes a head on collision with a particle of mass m2 initially at rest , so that their final velocity v1 and v2 are along the same line ..
if the collision is elastic show that ..

1. v2= 2u/1+(m2/m1)

2. calculate the fraction of total energy shared by m2
