A particle starts moving along x -
axis, with constant velocity 4m/s. After 2s from the start of motion of the first particle, another particle starts in the same direction, with the same position
with constant velocity of 6m/s. calculate the time at which second particle will catch the first
particle.

Answer: Second particle catches the first particle after 6 seconds.

Explanation:

Let the second particle catch the first particle at t second.

Therefore, after t seconds both particle will have travelled same distance.

Distance travelled by first particle = 4t

Distance travelled by second particle = 6(t-2)

4t = 6(t-2)

4t= 6t -12

2t = 12

t = 6
