For first 5 sec,
u = 0
v = ?
s = 10
t = 5

s = ut + ½at²
10 = 0 + ½(25)(a)
a = 20/25
a = 0.8 m/s

Now, total time = 5 + 3 + 2 = 10 s

Distance covered in 10 s =
s = ut +½at²
s = ½(0.8)10²
s = 40 m

Distance traveled in first 8 s = 10 + 10 = 20 m

Distance travelled in next 2 s = 40 - 20 = 20 m
