Well its very easy we have been given the sides of the triangle and here we dont know what is the base and what is the height? well for that reason let us use heron's formula
For that we need semi perimeter
we know that
semi perimeter = a+b+b/2
where a,b,c are the sides of the triangle
so s= 48+33+17/2=49
so by herons formula we get
Area = [s(s-a) (s-b)(s-c)]^1/2
Area=[49(49-48)(49-33)(49-17)]^1/2
Area=(25088)^1/2
Area=158.39 cm^2

This is the area of one triangle
For six triangles= 158.39*6=950.34 cm^2

this is the area of 1 pattern and area of six such patterns = 950.34*6=5702.04 cm^2

Thus the area of cotton cloth required is 5702.04 cm^2
Hope this helped u :-)

XxMaverickxX: well i dont think that i have included hexagon area tho ?
XxMaverickxX: well yes and there is nothing mentioned about the hexagon
XxMaverickxX: asy?

first find the area of one triangular piece using Heron's formula, then multiply it by 6
Hence u get the area of one triangular patch
Whatever u get now multiply it further by 6 to get the area of 6 such triangular patches
