Dimensions of a piece of cloth:

Length (l) = 5m, Breadth (b) = 2 m

Width of the border (w) = 50 cm = 0.5 m

Dimensions of the cloth after border EFGH:

L = l + 2w

=> L = 5 m + 2 × 0.5

= 5m + 1 m

= 6 m

B = b + 2w

= 2m + 2 × 0.5

= 2m + 1m

= 3m

 Area \: of \:the \:border \\= Area \: of \: EFGH - Area \: of \: ABCD \\= L\times B - l \times b \\= 6 \times 3 - 5 \times 2 \}= 18 - 10 \\= 8 \: m^{2}

 Cost \: of \: printing \: 1 \:m^{2} \:border = Rs \: 200

 Cost \: of \: printing \: complete \: border\\=200 \times 8 \\= Rs \: 1600
