Answer :

  • time period of pendulum is 0.5 sec
  • frequency of pendulum is 2 Hertz.

Explanation :

given,

  • pendulum vibrates 30 times in one minute

to find,

  • Time period of pendulum, T =?
  • frequency of pendulum, f = ?

so,

As time period is called the time taken to complete one complete cycle or vibration.

( SI unit of time period is seconds )

and, Given pendulum has 30 vibration per minute , means 30 vibration per 60 seconds , therefore,

→ Time period , T = 30 / 60

Time period,  T = 0.5 s

Now,

Frequency is known as the number of vibrations per unit time.

( SI unit of frequency is Hertz )

so,

using formula

→ Frequency , f = 1 / T

→ Frequency , f = 1 / 0.5

Frequency , f = 2 Hertz

therefore,

  • time period of pendulum is 0.5 seconds .
  • frequency of pendulum is 2 Hertz .

Given : A pendulum oscillates 30 times in 1 minute.

To find : What is its time period and frequency?

Using formula :

1) Frequency = Number of times the pendulum oscillates/Total number of time taken.

2) Time period = Number of oscillation per second/Frequency.

Calculations :

→ Frequency = 30/60 sec

→ Frequency = 0.5 hertz

→ Time period = 1/0.5

→ Time period = 2 seconds

Therefore,

  1. Frequency = 0.5 hertz.
  2. Time period = 2 seconds.
