time period of the pendulum is the time taken for one oscillation. time period= time taken for no. of oscillations/ no. of oscillations. here no. of oscillations= 40, and time taken= 4seconds. .time period for this condition is= 4/40 therefore the time period is=1/10th of 1 second. frequency of a pendulum is the no. of oscillations in one second. frequency= 1/ time period here time period=1/10 of a second frequency for this condition=1/1/10 therefore frequency=0.1 . .

Given : A pendulum oscillates 20 times in 5 seconds.

To find : What is its time period and frequency?

Using formula :

1) Frequency = Number of times the pendulum oscillates/Total number of time taken.

2) Time period = Number of oscillation per second/Frequency.

Calculations :

→ Frequency = 20/5

→ Frequency = 4 hertz

→ Time period = 1/4

→ Time period = 0.25 seconds

Therefore,

  1. Frequency = 4 hertz.
  2. Time period = 0.25 seconds.
