Answer:

100 km/h

Step-by-step explanation:

Let 'Vt' be the speed of the train

Let 'Vc' be the speed of the car,

Given that a person covers 300 km in 4 hours he covers 60 km by train and 240 km by car

=> Total time taken for the journey = 4 hr

=>Time taken to travel by train + time taken to travel by car = 4 hr

=> 60/Vt + 240/Vc = 4 hr---(*)

Also, given that  if he travels 100 km by train and remaining by car then he this 10 minutes faster

=>Total time taken for the journey = 4 hr - 10 min = 23/6 hr

=>Time taken to travel by train + time taken to travel by car = 23/6 hr

=> 100/Vt + 200/Vc = 23/6 hr---(**),

Solving (*) and (**) for Vt,

we get Vt = 100 km/hr.
