18 km/hr in 8 min or 8/60 hr

that implies distance 18 x 2/15 =2.4 km

he needs to cover 2.4 km in 6min or 6/60 hr

we know time = distance/ speed

this implies 1/10=24/10x

so we have x=24 km/hr

S1= 18 km/hr

t1= 8 min= (2/15)hr

D1= (18*2/15)km

= (12/5)km

D2=D1=(12/5)km

t2=6min=(1/10)hr

s2=(12/5)/(1/10)=

= 12*10/5 =24km/hr
