Answer:

The quantity of sugar bought at the rate of Rs 20 per kg is 22.5 kg

Step-by-step explanation:

Given as :

The initial quantity of sugar = q = 18 kg

The initial rate = Rs 25 per kg

So, The money spend on 18 kg at rate Rs 25 per kg = Rs 25 × 18 = Rs 450

Again'

The price of sugar reduced by Rs 5 per kg

So, The final rate of sugar = Rs 25 per kg - Rs 5 per kg = Rs 20 per kg

Now, Applying unitary method

∵ The money spend on 18 kg at rate Rs 25 per kg = Rs 450

∴ The money spend on x kg at rate Rs 20 per kg = Rs Rs 25 x

So, Rs 20 x = Rs 450

i.e  x = \dfrac{450}{20}

∴   x = 22.5 kg

Hence, The quantity of sugar bought at the rate of Rs 20 per kg is 22.5 kg Answer
