CONCEPT:

tanA=perpendicular/base

sinA=perpendicular/hypotenuse

cosA=base/hypotenuse

Given:

AB=182m

∠C=60°

Find:

BC=?

Solution:

When base or perpendicular is given, and we need to find eihter of these twO, then we use tan

So, tanC=AB/BC

 ⇒tan60° =182/BC

⇒√3          =182/BC

⇒BC          =182/√3

⇒BC=105.08m

Therefore,the distance between the base of the statue and the person is 105.08 m
