Let the man works for x days

→ He remains absent for (40 - x) days

Since, the man gets ₹ 150 for each day he worked and is fined ₹ 30 for each day he remains absent.

150x - 30 (40 - x) = 3,300

⟹ 150x - 1200 + 30x = 3,300

⟹ 150x - 1200 + 30x = 3,300

⟹ 180x = 3,300 + 1,200 = 4,500

and,

$\sf{x=\dfrac{4,500}{180}=25}$

Therefore, the man worked for 25 days
