→ College coordinates = (0,0)

→ City A coordinates = (2,y)

→ Distance between college and city A = 2√2 km .

so, using distance formula we get,

→ (0 - 2)² + (0 - y)² = (2√2)²

→ 4 + y² = 8

→ y² = 8 - 4

→ y = ± 2 .

since , person is moving in east direction , y will be positive .

therefore, y is equal to 2 . (Option a)

now,

→ City A = (2,2)

→ City B = (x,8)

→ AB = 6√2 km .

again, using distance formula we get,

→ (x - 2)² + (8 - 2)² = (6√2)²

→ (x - 2)² + 36 = 72

→ (x - 2)² = 72 - 36

→ (x - 2)² = (6)²

→ x - 2 = 6

→ x = 8 (Option d)

now, let coordinates of Mid points of city and city B is M(x,y) .

so,

→ x = (x1 + x2)/2 = (2 + 8)/2 = 5

→ OA = 2√2 km
