1. The things we learn on a daily basis are because of the influence of the society. The surroundings motivate us and shape us into what we are but it is just some external change and force and not an internal factor. In contrast, the culture, traditions and rituals grow along with us and at the end  of the day we are subjected to the internal force and dedication and not random changes. That is why the author says it is easier to escape society and not culture.

2. I agree with his words in this context as no matter how much we change with the external environment and society, the roots are what define and us and it comes with birth and grows along with us throughout the lifetime.
