A person moves a distance of 3 km towards east and then 2 km towards north and then 3.5 km towards east. (a) find the distance covered by the person (b) the displacement of this motion.​

3+2+3.5= 8.5km

Displacement covered by person

use Pythagoras

(6.5)^2 + (2)^2 = x^2

42.25+4= x^2

46.25=x^2

x=6.8 km
