A person of weight 50 kg is moved down in an elevator.calculate downward acceleration offered by the elevator where reaction forceis 400N on the surface.​

Using Free body diagram,

we get

mg - R = ma

So a = g - R/m = 10 - 400/50 = 10 - 8 = 2

Downward acceleration = 2m/s^2
