this may help you....
_____________
let the distance be = x km
while going time taking =x/30hr and coming takes x/20 hr
total time= x/30+x/20=5x/60
total distance =x+x=2x
average speed= 2x/(5x/60)
= 2x*60/5x
= 24 km/hr

Answer:

The average speed of the bicycle is 24 km/hr.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : A person on bicycle travels from place x to y by speed 30 km/hr and coming by speed 20 km/hr.

To find : What is the average speed of person in tour?

Solution :

Let the distance be x km.

The speed from x to y is 30 km/hr.

The distance formula is

Distance =Speed × Time

The time taken while going is T_1=\frac{x}{30}

The speed on coming back is 20 km/hr.

The time taken while coming back is T_2=\frac{x}{20}

Total time taken is

T=T_1+T_2

T=\frac{x}{30}+\frac{x}{20}

T=\frac{2x+3x}{60}

T=\frac{5x}{60}

Total distance is D=x+x=2x

Average speed of the bicycle is

S=\frac{D}{T}

S=\frac{2x}{\frac{5x}{60}}

S=\frac{2x\times 60}{5x}

S=24

Therefore, The average speed of the bicycle is 24 km/hr.
