Let quantity of pen and pencil be x and y respectively.
7x + 3y = 564 .........(1)
x + y =108 .........(2)
Multiplying (2) by 7
7x + 7y = 756 ......(3)
Subtracting 3 from 1
7x+3y=564
7x+7y=756

-4y = -192
y = 48
x+y=108
x+48=108
x = 60
Therefore, there r 60 pens and 48 pencils.
