GIVEN:

Diameter=140m

Radius=140/2=70m

Time=2 min=120 sec

SOLUTION:

Distance covered

=circumference of the circle

=2πr

=2×22/7×70

=440m

Speed=distance/time

Speed=70/2×60=70/120=0.58m/s

I hope this helps

Answer:

The distance covered by the person is 440m.

The speed of the person is 0.58m/s.

Explanation:

Given:

Diameter = 140m in 2 minutes

To find:

the distance and the speed of the person covered by 2 minutes.

Step 1

Radius = 140/2 = 70m

Time = 2 min = 120 sec

Distance covered = circumference of the circle

Circumference of the circle = 2πr

=2*22/7*70

=440m

Therefore, the distance covered by the person is 440m.

Step 2

Then the speed = distance/time

Speed =70/2*60

=70/120=0.58m/s

Therefore, the speed of the person is 0.58m/s.
