Here velocity of ball is given with respect to observer in bus = 12 m/s in y direction

Velocity of moving bus is 25 m/s in x direction

Therefore by relative motion

Velocity of ball w.r.t ground = 12j+25i (Vectorial Form)

Now to calculate the magnitude of velocity = √12²+25²=√144+625=√769 = 27 m/s
