time= distance/speed
let x be speed of car
speed of train w.r.t car= (5/4)x=1.25x
speed of bus w.r.t car= (2/5)x=0.4x
15.5= (270/x)+(450/(1.25x))+(120/(0.4x))
solve it to find x=60 kmph

Answer:

The speed of car is 60 km/hr

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that a person travelled 270 km by car, 450 km by train and 120 km by bus. it took 15.5 hours . If the speed of car is 4/5 times the speed of train and 2.5 times the speed of bus.

let x be speed of car

Time= \frac{distance}{speed}

\text{speed of car=} (\frac{4}{5})\text{speed of train}

\text{speed of train=}\frac{5}{4}x=1.25x

\text{speed of car=} 2.5(\text{speed of bus})

\text{speed of bus=}\frac{2}{5}x=0.4x

15.5= \frac{(270}{x}+\frac{450}{1.25x}+\frac{120}{0.4x}

15.5=\frac{270}{x}+\frac{360}{x}+\frac{300}{x}

15.5=\frac{930}{x}

x=60km/hr

The speed of car is 60 km/hr
