Let's see what value we have,
u ( initial velocity ) = 43.2 km/h
a ( acceleration ) = - 6 m/s²
v ( final velocity ) = 0
Converting 43.2 km/h into m/s
= 43.2 × 5/18 m/s
= 2.4 × 5 m/s
= 12 m/s
v² - u² = 2as [ Third Equation of Motion ]
0² - (12)² = 2(-6)(s)
- 144 / - 12 = s
12 m = s ( distance )
So, person travel 12 m after applying breaks of 6 m/s²
Hope it helps
