Given,

A person uses one candle per night to study.

He collects an unused portion of 3 candles to make another candle and light it.

To Find,

How many days would 29 candles last?

Solution,

As given here are 29 candles, so a total of 29 days will last.

Also in those days per day, some portions of candles will remain,

From that, in 3days we can make a new candle.

After 29days there will be a total of 9 candles and 2 unused candles also .

Now those 9 candles will burn for 9 days and the left part will remain again.

Those parts can make 3 other candles.

Which will burn again for 3 days and remains will make a new candle.

Now, this candle will burn for 1 day. The remained portion will be added with the previous 2 used portions to form a candle.

This candle will burn for 1 day.

So the total count will be 29+9+3+1+1=43.

Hence, those 29 candles will last for 43 days.
