v1 = walking speed of person v2 = escalator speed The person walks up the stationary escalator (length L) in 90s. L = speed x time = 90v1 The escalotr moves a distance L in 60s. v2 = distance/time = L/60 = (90v1)/60 = 1.5v1 When walking up the escalator, the person`s speed = v1 + v2. time taken = distance/speed t = L / (v1 + v2) t = 90v1/(v1 + v2) Substituting for v2: t = 90v1/(v1 + 1.5v1) = 90 / (1 + 1.5) = 90 / 2.5 =36 s

I hope this is right answer....! :-)
