●●Saving = 100% - 66 2/3% =  33 1/3%

●●so 33 1/3% = Rs. 1200

●●so 100% = 1200/100 * 3 * 100

●●Rs. 3600

●●Expenses = 3600 - 1200 =  Rs. 2400

Let total salary be ₹ k,

Given in the question, after spending 66 2/3% of his salary { k } , he saves ₹1200.

Converting the theory in equation,

We know, income - expenditure = saving

=> k - { 66 2/3 % of k } = 1200

 = > k - ( \frac{200}{3}\% \times k) = 1200 \\ \\ \\ = > k - \frac{200k}{300} = 1200 \\ \\ \\ = > 300k - 200= k = 1200 \times 300 \\ \\ \\ = > 100k = 1200 \times 300 \\ \\ \\ = > k = \frac{1200 \times 300}{100} \\ \\ \\ = > k = \frac{ \cancel{100}\times 12 \times 300}{ \cancel{100} }

k = ₹ 3600 = His monthly salary.

Expenditure = 3600 - 1200 = ₹2400
