Gravitational acceleration on Mars is about 38% that on the earth, so let's calculate.

38% of g = 38/100 x 10 = 3.8m/s^2 [taking g=10]

Now, F= ma or W=mg

Weight = 2.2 kg x 3.8 m/s^2 = 8.36Kgm/s^2 or Newton.

So the weight of the book on Mars will be 8.36N
