A piece of a mire 7/8m long broke into two pieces . One piece is 1/4meter long . How long is the other piece?​

After breaking = Before breaking - one piece = \frac{7}{8}-\frac{1}{4} \\making Denominator same, LCM of denominator is 8\\so,\\\frac{7*1}{8*1}-\frac{1*2}{4*2}=\frac{7-2}{8}=\frac{5}{8}

So length of the remaining wire is 5/8
