Answer :

We have,

  • Mass of coal 50 g
  • Volume is 20³ cm

To do,

  • Find the density and relative density.

Solution :

We know that,

  • Formula for Density

\large{\boxed{\underline{\sf{Density = \dfrac{Mass}{Volume}}}}}

As we have,

  • Mass and volume from the question. Put it in the formula

= {\sf{Density = \dfrac{Mass}{Volume}}}

= {\sf{Density = \dfrac{50\:g}{20\:{c}^{3}}}}

= {\sf{Density = 2.5\:g\;{c}^{3}}}

Now,

Coming on the second part of question,

  • Formula for relative density

\large{\boxed{\underline{\sf{Relative\;Density= \dfrac{Mass\;of\;Substance}{Mass\;of\;amount\;of\;water}}}}}

Put values in formula :-

= {\sf{Relative\;Density= \dfrac{Mass\;of\;Substance}{Mass\;of\;amount\;of\;water}}}

= {\sf{Relative\;Density= \dfrac{2.5}{1\:g\;{c}^{3}}}}

= {\sf{Relative\;Density= 2.5}}
