a piece of cork weighs 25g in air. It floats in water with one-fourth of volume inside water. What is the apparent weight of piece of water?

buoyancy force on cork =weight of the water displaced
because 1/4th of the cork is immersed .
i.e . it displaced the volume of water equal to 1/4th of its own volume .

hence weight of water 1/4th volume of cork would be equal to the weight of the floating cork.
apparent weight =real weight- buoyancy force =1/4-1/4=0
