Percent by which elastic is stretched = 24%
24% of elastic= 24/100× x = 24x/100 = 6x/25
x + 6x/25 = 31
(25x+6x)/25 = 31
31x/25 = 31
31x = 25×31 = 775
x = 775/31 = 25 cm
