I think that the water level remains unchanged because of the presence of intermolecular space in water.

the correct one is it remains unchanged as in whichever utensil u put water to freeze the matter of matter of water changes from liquid to ice but not the quantity changes so when ice melts the same amount of water is back in the utensil
