A piece of string is 36 cm long. what will be the length of each side, if the string is used to form:

a) A square?
b) An equilateral triangle? ​

Length of piece of string = 36cm

a) total sides of square = 4

length of each side of square

= perimeter of square / number of sides

= length of string / number of sides

36/4 = 9cm

b) total sides of equilateral triangle = 3

length of each side of equilateral triangle

= perimeter of triangle/ number of sides

= 36/3 = 12cm
