A piece of wire 22 cm long is bent into the form of an arc of a circle subtending
an angle of 60° at its centre. Find the radius of the circle.​

length of arc =60/360×2×22/7×r

22=1/6×44/7×r

22=1/3×22/7×r

r=22×3/1×7/22

r=21cm

To find:

The radius of the circle.​

Formula used:

Perimeter of arc = \frac{\text{Angle \ of \ arc \ in \ radian}}{2\pi }\times 2\pi \times \text{Radius\  of \ circle}    

From the given data:            

Angle of arc in radian =\frac{\pi }{3}

Finding the radius of circle :

Perimeter of arc =   \frac{\text{Angle \ of \ arc \ in \ radian}}{2\pi }\times 2\pi \times \text{Radius\  of \ circle}

22  = \frac{\frac{\pi }{3} }{2\pi }\times 2\pi \\ × (Radius)

Radius = \frac{22 \times 3}{\pi }

            = \frac{22\times 3}{3.14}

            = 21.019 ≈ 21

Radius = 21 cm.

Therefore, the radius of the circle is 21 cm.
