Answer:

Thanks for your question...

Your required answer :

Given :

  • Total Length of Wire = 7/8 metre
  • Length of one wire after cutting = 1/4 metre

To find :

  • We have to find the length of other wire.

How can we find the lenth of other wire :

  • We have to subtract the length of given wire from the length of total wire.

Now , Solution :

  • 7/8 - 1/4 ( Take Lcm i.e. 8 )
  • (7 - 2)/8
  • 5/8

Therefore Length of second wire is 5/8 metre.

Verifying :

  • For verification we have to add the first and second length and we will get the total length.

Solution :

  • 1/4 + 5/8 ( Take LCM i.e. 8 )
  • (2 + 5 ) / 8
  • 7/8

7/8 is the total length . Thus our answer is correct.
