When cut into 5 pieces, resistance of each part is R/5.
So, equivalent resistance of the 5 pieces when connected in parallel is, 1/R1 = 5/R + 5/R + 5/R + 5/R + 5/R
=> R1 = R/25
So, required ratio is, R : R1 = 25 : 1
So, equivalent resistance of the 5 pieces when connected in parallel is, 1/R1 = 5/R + 5/R + 5/R + 5/R + 5/R
=> R1 = R/25
So, required ratio is, R : R1 = 25 : 1

Let the Total Resistance be R.
When cut into 5 equal parts,
each part has R/5 Resistance.
When connected in Parallel,
1/R^ = 5/R + 5/R +5/R+5/R + 5/R
i.e;
1/R^ = 25 /R
Therefore R ^ = R/25
Is the question incomplete though?
I hope this helped.
