Step-by-step explanation:

pipe A can empty tank in 15 hr so in 1 hr it can empty 1/15 part of tank

pipe B can empty tank in 10 hrs,so in 1 hr it can empty 1/10 part of tank

if both pipes are opened then amount of tank can be emptied in 1 hr = (1/15 + 1/10)

=1/6

the two pipes can empty 1/6 part in one hour...to empty the whole tank it requires 6 hours

The total time required is 6 hrs
