Amount of water filled in 1 hour = 1/16 hrs

Time taken due to leakage = 24 hrs

Amount of water filled in 1 hour due to leakage = 1/24 hrs

Time taken to empty tank completely = 1/16 - 1/24

                                                              =3/48 - 2/48

                                                              =1/48

Therefore tank is completely emptied in 48 hours
