A plane is flying at height of 5500 m above sea level at a particular point it is exactly above a submarine floating 1250 m below sea level what is the vertical distance between the plane and submarine

Solution:-

Given:-

Height of the plane is 5500 m above sea level.

Height of the submarine is 1259 m below sea level.

To Find:-

Vertical distance between the two bodies.

Assumption:-

Let, distance above the sea level be positive (+)

and let, distance below the sea level be negative (-)

By the Problem:-

Vertical  \: distance =[ 5500 - ( - 1250) ]m\\  \\ \implies \:[ 5500 + 1250]m\\  \\ \implies \:6750 \: m

Answer:-

Vertical Distance = 6750 m
