Plane = above sea level=>5000m Submarine=below sea level=>1200m Total vertical distance=5000+1200 =>6200m  Hope it helps☺☺

taking water level as point x so
distance between plane and water level be d1 and that of sumbrine maybe d2 so vertical distance or better said displacement is d1+ d2
5000+1200
