Velocity of the image Vi = 3i + 4j + 11k

Explanation:

Velocity of the plane mirror (Vm) = 4i+4j+5k.

Velocity of the object (Vo) = 3i+4j+5k.

k is along the normal to the plane mirror and facing the object.

Velocity of the image can be derived from:

Vm = (Vo + Vi ) / 2 as per the concept of perpendicular component of velocity of image on plane mirror.

For perpendicular component z,

Vmz = Voz + Viz / 2 = 8

(5 + Viz) / 2 = 8

Viz = 16 - 5 = 11

As per parallel compenents of image on plane mirror concept, Vop = Vip

x and y component of velocity of the image will remain the same as the velocity of the object.

Velocity of the image Vi = 3i + 4j + 11k
