Answer:

2000 metres

Explanation:

Given :

  • Initial velocity of the plane = u = 0 m/s

  • Acceleration of the plane = 40 m/s²

  • Time taken = t = 10 seconds

To find :

  • Distance travelled by the plane in the time period (s)

Using the first equation of motion :

  • V=u+at

V=0+40×10

V=0+400

V = 400 m/s

The final velocity of the plane is equal to 400 m/s

Using the third equation of motion :

  • V²-u²=2as

400²-0²=2×40×s

160000-0=80s

s = 160000/80

s = 2000 metres (or) 2km

The distance travelled by the plane is equal to 2000 metres

Given:-

  • Initial velocity =0m/s

  • Acceleration =40m/s²

  • Time taken =10s

To Find:-

  • Distance covered by train.

Solution :-

By using 2nd equation of motion

➦ s=ut +1/2at²

➭ s = 0×10+1/2×40× 10×10

➭s=20×100

➭ s= 2000m

∴The distance covered by plane is 2km.
