Average speed of the plane = 600 km/hr.

Time taken to cover the Distance = 2.5 hrs

Then, by the formula,

                     v = total dist. travelled/total time taken

                     600 = total dist. travelled/2.5

                     Total dist. travelled = 1500 km

Given - Speed - 600 km/hr

Time - 2.5 hr

Find - Distance

Solution - Distance between any two objects, when speed and time is given, is calculated by the help of given formula -

S = D/T, where s is speed, d is distance and t is time.

Keeping the values in equation -

D = 600*2.5

D = 1500 km.

Hence, the plane has to fly for the distance of about 1500 km.
