length of rectangular playground is 36m and wideness is 28m.
a passage of 2 m breadth is constructed therefore increase in length and widness is by 4cm (increases both upward and downward, left side and right sides.)respectivelynew length and breadth is 40m and 32m.the total perimeter is 2(40+32)
=2×72
=144.

Dear Student,

● Answer -

Outer length of passage = 144 m

● Explanation -

Given that length and width of playground is 36 m and 28 m respectively. If there is a passage of 2 m breadth around it, length of outer rectangle will be 2 + 36 + 2 = 40 m and width will be 2 + 28 + 2 = 32 m.

Perimeter of outer rectangle is -

Perimeter = 2 (length + width)

Perimeter = 2 (40 + 32)

Perimeter = 2 × 72

Perimeter = 144 m

So outer length of the passage will be 144 m.

Thanks dear...
